Title 1 About the Winery
Content 1

When they decided to lay the first stone of their project, over twenty years ago, the surroundings and the weight of tradition marked each step they took. The preceding generation had already contributed to the birth of their dream.
Javier San Pedro Róndez, a descendant of a line of winegrowers, decided to create Bodegas Vallobera in 1990 together with Ana Ortega, and he became the first in the San Pedro family to bottle their own wines. They started by selling young wines, but they began aging their wines in 1992.
They started with just 100 barrels; first vintage was released in 1992. Bodegas Vallobera is a family-owned bodega located in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa.

Title 2 Winemaking
Content 2

The harvest took place during the first half of October when the controls of maturation indicated to us the correct moment. Elaborated with destalked grapes and a fermentation which lasts up to 21 days. There are 3 rackings a day until half way through the fermentation, thereafter there are 2. The wine underwent the malolactic fermentation and was aged in American oak barrels for 6 months. After a months aging in the bottle the tannins are smoother.
